Frederick James Pask was born in Fornham All Saints (Thingoe Q1-1887 4A:692), son of Edgar and Caroline Kate PASK (née SHARPE ).

1891 census...Aged 4, he was in Hengrave with his father Edgar PASK [25] farm labourer born Fornham All Saints; his mother Caroline [25] born Westley; brother Sidney George [2] and sister Florence E [1] both born in Hengrave.

His father died in Q3-1900.

1901 census...Aged 14, farm labourer, he was at Stanchell's Farm, Hengave with his widowed mother; brother Sidney, George [6] and Robert [3]; sisters Ellen (Florence), Lily [9] and Elizabeth [1 month]. The new siblings all born in Hengrave.

1911 census...Not found in this census, possibly in the Army. The rest of the family were still in Hengrave.

His brother George Arthur served from 1914 in the Suffolks, Norfolks in BEF, and Labour Corps and survived the war, returning to Hengrave


He enlisted in Bury St Edmunds. The records state he died "In Hospital" but not where., but death was registered in Woolwich. His headstone says he was wounded on 23rd April 1917 in France.
The 4th battalion on 23rd April 1917 had attacked the Hindenburg Line near the River Sensee and been unsuccessful. They had 41 O Ranks killed, 106 missing and 104 wounded. The very next day the British were able to occupy all the disputed German trenches as the Germans had withdrawn during the night.
